As 2010 is drawing to an end, we, at Networkplace, the European network around strength-based approaches look at our highlights in 2010:
CONNECT, COMBINE CO-CREATE
During 2010 the network continued to serve as a strong base for new connections and for deepening of existing relationships across Europe.
2010 was the year when the network became recognized by the EU Grundtvig organization. Grundtvig is a well established programme and the fact that our application was granted was an act of recognition by the European Union. The contract is now signed by all parties and the project will start in Jan 24-25 in the Netherlands
THE EUROPEAN NETWORK MEETINGS & MEMBERSHIP
We had two meetings this year. One meeting in Bled in April and another meeting in Greece in October. The network has now grown to 560 people all around Europe, and the world
The UK had four meetings. Sweden held nine network cafes during the year. Meetings have also been held in Greece, Berlin and the Netherlands.
We started a community on Ning, which is more user friendly and allows for more user participation and communication within the community.
OUR HOPES AND WISHES FOR 2011
2011 brings many more exciting opportunities to connect, combine and co-create. The European Network will have two network meetings; one in Volendam in the Netherlands in April 2011 and the second one in Manchester, UK in November. Each local network will also have its own meetings.
We hope to continue the development of a more interactive and inclusive communication throughout the network in 2011 through the Ning group.
We also look forward to our Gruntvig initiative. We hope it will strengthen the community and result in innovative concepts around learning using AI or strength based approaches throughout Europe.
And finally, Europe is gearing up to hosting a WW AI conference in 2012 as well as preparing to be included in potential global initiatives. The European Network is open to conversations and sharing thoughts towards these exciting events and initiatives.
Wishing you a happy and appreciative year in 2011!
